Good Strategic Journeys help business leaders tell a story of “How to eat an elephant”.
Business Strategy can often be one extreme or the other – full of warm and broad objectives or action-oriented plans focused on dealing with the here and now. Strategic Journeys brings these two extremes together.
For this workshop, we discuss an overall “Joined-Up” strategy framework and then focus on the foundations of strategy. With this greater clarity, the business leader and their executive
team can make better decisions on priorities and phasing of initiatives.
We blend several models, e.g. the Jim Collins flywheel, the Ansoff growth matrix and the three horizons model to tell a story of growth and evolution.
Some of these models really benefit from the Vistage Peer Group approach. A Vistage type conversation – asking clarifying questions, challenging and comparing alternative suggestions can hone and focus a plan like no other process.

About Jon Lindsay
Jon has been a Brisbane based Vistage Chair since 2009 and runs three vibrant Vistage groups. He was a Vistage UK member for several years before. Jon has unashamedly borrowed ideas and concepts from the myriad of Vistage speakers and hundreds of videos and business books over the last 25 years.
Jon encourages business leaders to think in a Joined-Up® way. He is a natural facilitator of powerful conversations, encouraging “Leadership Flow”, talking about the right things, at
the right time, with the right people taking ownership.
In his Joined-Up® practice, Jon has developed a range of models designed to help leadership teams have the right conversations. This includes a Vision to Action framework for strategy and focus on the drivers of customer value. He has for several years worked with organisations implementing Enterprise excellence and Lean Thinking. Beyond his Vistage chairing Jon works with CEOs, Boards and Executives in developing Joined-up strategies, facilitating workshops, conducting 1on1coaching sessions and implementing Advisory Boards.
His career has migrated from engineering and project management, through manufacturing to business services, insurance and finance. He has an Engineering degree from Cambridge and a MBA from Harvard.
Vistage members are high-integrity business leaders from a diverse range of industries who meet monthly to support each other and address the challenges of leading in these increasingly uncertain times.
The speaker session is the first part of a monthly all-day meeting. During the afternoon, Vistage members continue with their Executive Session. Our speakers are subject experts focused on stimulating active discussion with the group.
