"Leadership Flow" In Melbourne with Jon Lindsay

  • Goldie and Ace Head Office 247 Ingles Street Port Melbourne, Victoria, 3207 Australia (map)

You are invited to join members of Vistage CE 16 and their Chair Tony McGinn for their next speaker session, led by Jon Lindsay on "Leadership Flow”

Leadership Flow

Talking about the right things, at the right time, with the right people taking ownership

“Flow” is a term used by speakers on resilience and stress management and, from a completely different perspective, the main building block of Lean Thinking and Enterprise Excellence.

This workshop focuses on the leader and their executive team by introducing simple frameworks built on the work of Pat Lencioni, Gino Wickman and John Doerr. One of the main
takeaways is likely to be a much clearer understanding of how to best use OKRs (Objectives and Key Results) as a foundation for accountability.

For this workshop, Jon shares the overall Joined-Up strategy framework and asks attendees to identify their strategy foundations, but the focus is on the Execution. Deployment of strategy needs three complementary areas:

  • Tools – especially dashboards and visual aids

  • Processes – including meeting rhythms, agendas and
    triggers for action

  • Mindset – the focus on team performance

What to bring:

  • Your broad strategy documents (just to refer to and share with a colleague)

  • A reflection your meeting rhythms and agenda process

In this session you will learn:

  • Where “Big Picture” Strategy helps prioritise and focus the executive team

  • Strategy implementation is just another process

  • The need for balance between tools, processes and mindset

  • The potential of OKRs (Objectives and Key Results) and a shift in focus on to Lead Indicators

  • How a Board (or your Vistage group) can benefit from a focus on leadership flow

  • The power of conversations

Key Take-Aways

  • A Joined-Up Strategy Framework

  • Telling a story using just the objectives

  • Creating engagement and ownership through conversations about Key Results

  • Focusing on the vital few

  • A model for cascading objectives

  • Your leadership flow challenge worked up as a Vistage Issue
