This year we're heading to Tangalooma — a genuine seaside island escape just 75 minutes by ferry from Brisbane. Given the resort's family-friendly setup (wild dolphin feeding, beach playground, free activities), partners are welcome to bring the kids this year if you'd like to make a family weekend of it.
Friday 6th November
Tangalooma is ferry-access only. The passenger ferry departs Holt St Wharf, Pinkenba (220 Holt St) — not the Port of Brisbane vehicle barge terminal, which is a different location about 20 minutes away. Check-in closes 1 hour before departure.

7:30am, 10:00am, 12:30pm or 5:30pm
You are encouraged to take the 12.30 ferry and make a weekend of it. The ferry takes 75 minutes.
6.30 pm — Evening drinks
7.30 pm — Informal dinner — BBQ/buffet style, so late arrivals off the last ferry aren't left out.
Later — After-dinner drinks, cash bar to your own room account

9.00am Session with Dr Sven Hansen— teas/coffees on arrival
10.15am Morning tea break
12.30pm Session ends
12.45pm Light lunch.
2.00pm Desert Safari | From $57.00 per person — group activity on Moreton Island's dunes (bookable for all ages)
6.00pm Evening drinks and sunset
~6.15pm Wild dolphin feeding at the shore — open to the whole group, a great one for kids and partners
7.00pm Private dinner — our special evening where we share reflections on our past, present and future
Later After-dinner drinks, cash bar to your own room account
Sunday 8th November
Optional Snorkel the Wrecks tour — $69 per person for anyone keen, at own cost, before checkout
Before departure Check out. Lunch at own expense if staying for a later ferry
Costs are $1,600 per couple. Includes ferry for two and meals. Excluded beverages and group excursions. Accommodation is at Kookaburra Hotel, Deluxe Accommodation.
