Harvard Club of Australia - Dinner with John de Groot, "Champion Goat Racer"

  • The Brisbane Club Cellar 241 Adelaide Street Brisbane City, QLD, 4000 Australia (map)

Please join members and guests for one of our less serious evenings in the Harvard Club of Australia Calendar. John de Groot has been a regular at many of the club events over the years. But who would have thought that we have a champion Goat Racer in our midst?

We still have some places left for an evening in the Brisbane Club Cellar with master storyteller John de Groot, sharing of his upbringing in Barcaldine as a champion goat racer, and of the many colourful characters he encountered and the true secret of “Home Advantage”.

Our speaker, John de Groot

John is one of Australia’s leading specialists in Succession Law and author of a number of publications on the subject. For many years John was the Director of Legal Practice of the Law Faculty at the Queensland University of Technology, having responsibility for the faculty’s practical legal training programs for graduates seeking admission as solicitors or barristers in the State. Among his many accomplishments he is a Past President of the Queensland Law Society, Adjunct Professor at the T. C. Beirne School of Law at the University of Queensland, a Former Chair and current Member of the Queensland Community Foundation and a Member of the International Academy of Estate and Trust Law.
